Best Cafes in Paris France
There's just something elegant and romantic about visiting Paris, sitting outside, and enjoying a cup of coffee, an afternoon tea, or dining on world-class chocolate. Whether you sit and people watch or you lose yourself in the pages of a good book, the cafes in Paris are known around the world as some of the very best. Of course, there are hundreds of options to choose from. Instead of hoping you enter the right one, here are a handful of the very best cafes in Paris.
Cafe De La Paix
This is one of those classic cafe destinations where you won't want to leave. In fact, the French government anointed the cafe as a historic site. When the local government is hailing it as the cream of the crop, you know you're in for a treat. A favorite of French authors and visitors alike, you'll want to dress in clothing fashionable accessories that are comfortable as you won't want to leave.
Les Deux Magots
Here is one of those high-end cafe destinations where you'll need to decide whether you remain inside or outside. There is a fantastic seating area hugging the historic building. The seating is under an awning so you'll remain dry even when the weather is anything but. Plus, you'll have a fantastic view of pedestrians walking by.
One way you know a cafe is good in Paris is when local and visiting artists have called it home (and even written about the cafe in their books). Both F. Scott Fitzgerald (author of The Great Gatsby) and Ernest Hemingway wrote about Le Select previously. And beyond that Pablo Picasso would visit on a regular basis.
At the very least, you can grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy yourself, knowing you are in one of the most famous cafes not only in Paris but in any city around the world.
La Closerie des Lilas
Here is a beautiful cafe that will keep your eyes constantly looking about the shop. The glass roof is spectacular and matches beautifully with the brass rails and historical touches added to the interior. You should also stop in during the day and take in the live piano music.
